Recycled PS granules
Polystyrene for industry
Recycled polystyrene granules for industrial applications. Selection starts with the PS type, finished product requirements and processing specification.

Start by specifying the polystyrene type
PS covers different types of polystyrene. HIPS and GPPS are not automatically interchangeable, so a recycled PS enquiry should identify the required type or describe the application. If the product specification defines impact strength, stiffness or surface appearance, include those criteria and the test method. A generic material name does not confirm the properties of a particular batch.
Compare materials using a clear specification
When assessing recycled polystyrene, specify the processing method, melt flow with test conditions, colour and quality requirements. If part appearance matters, define the acceptable shade and surface assessment criteria. Include permitted additives and feedstock cleanliness requirements. For recurring supply, agree property tolerances and the documentation required for subsequent batches.
What to include in your enquiry
| Item | Information required |
|---|---|
| PS type | HIPS, GPPS or a detailed specification of the required material |
| Processing | Process, MFR/MFI with test conditions and application description |
| Part quality | Mechanical properties, colour, surface requirements and tolerances |
| Delivery and documents | Quantity, timing, destination and required property documentation |
Before you order
Does recycled PS always identify a HIPS or GPPS grade?
No. “Recycled PS granules” identifies the polymer family and feedstock form, not a complete specification. Availability of the appropriate type and compliance with product requirements must be confirmed before ordering, including colour and mechanical properties.
What helps us prepare a recycled PS quotation?
Include the current material data sheet or your own specification, process description and required quantity. Typical wholesale orders are around 1 tonne or more; the minimum depends on the product. Properties, batch availability, documentation and timing are agreed individually.
